Privacy policy.

This policy explains how RivetStays (“RivetStays”, “we”, “us”) handles personal information collected through https://rivetstays.com. We follow Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

What we collect

We only collect what you type into our enquiry form. That is your name, your email address, your phone number if you choose to give one, the building or address of your property, the suite type, and any message you add.

We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels or third-party analytics on this site. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, which may include your IP address, for security and reliability. We also record which page an enquiry came from so we know which part of the site you were reading.

Why we collect it

To reply to your enquiry with a management proposal, to answer your questions, and to keep a record of our correspondence with you. That is the whole purpose. We do not use your details for marketing unless you ask us to.

Your consent

Submitting the enquiry form is your consent for us to contact you about your property. You can withdraw it at any time by emailing support@rivetstays.com, and we will stop contacting you and delete your details on request.

Who else handles your information

We use Resend (resend.com) to deliver enquiry emails to our inbox. Your form submission passes through Resend’s servers, which may be located outside Canada, and is therefore subject to the laws of the country where it is processed. Resend acts as our processor and is not permitted to use your information for its own purposes.

Our site is hosted by a third-party hosting provider that stores server logs on our behalf. We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information to anyone, and we do not share it with any other third party except where the law requires it.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry correspondence for up to 24 months from your last contact with us, so we can pick up a conversation where it left off. After that we delete it. If you become a client, your information is kept for as long as our management agreement is in place and for the period afterwards that Canadian tax and business records law requires.

How we protect it

The site is served over HTTPS and the enquiry form is transmitted encrypted. Our API key for the email service is held server-side and is never exposed to your browser. Access to enquiry email is limited to the people at RivetStays who need it to reply to you.

Your rights

Under PIPEDA you may ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask for a copy of it, ask us to correct anything inaccurate, or ask us to delete it. Email support@rivetstays.com and we will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Children

This site is aimed at property owners. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle personal information, we will update this page and change the date at the top.
